Ingvar Jigrud came from Åsele in Västerbotten, where he was born, to Boden for his military service. He worked as a painter before he could support himself as an artist and he also taught art for many years at Sunderby folk high school. He searched for a balance between colour and form and his paintings were kept together by a strong but checked feeling. Jigrud had a number of solo exhibitions round about in Sweden and also created several public art works.
